There could be many names on this page, because there are a lot of star sportsmen in the region. But now we will talk only about those whose achievements have influenced the sport in the region.
She was born in 1939 in Kondinsky region, and in 1953 moved to Salekhard. Three years later, she became champion of the Tyumen region in ski racing, and she mantained the title for 10 years.
Most important achievements: Russian champion among pedagogical colleges, the champion of the Siberian and Ural Student Games among higher educational institutions, winner of the 1963-1966 Siberian military district championships in ski racing and cross.
In 1963 she became the first women to qualify for the master of Sports of the USSR. She maintained the title for 5 years in a row. In 1968 she received the title the Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR.
She was born in 1946 in the Tyumen district
She is a multiple champion of the Tyumen region and the Central Council of the Voluntary Sporting Community (VSC) Lokomotiv in ski racing. In 1980 she became Master of Sports of the USSR at the USSR Competitions Big Tyumen Oil.
She worked in the VSC Working Reserves and State professional technical college №13 for 6 years. During this period, she prepared 5 Сandidate Masters of Sports, the college team was medallist of the USSR competitions Working Reserves. In 1998 she was awarded the Decoration of Honour For Services to Physical Culture and Sport Development.
She was the first instructor of the Olympic champions Anastasia Shipulina and Anton Shipulin.
She was born in 1943 in Sverdlovsk.
Zoya is the author of more than 20 methodical research works in physical culture, sports and judjing in athletics. She is the Referee of the USSR in athletics. She was a chairman of the Board of Referees of the Tyumen region for 10 years. She was referee in the 1980 Olympics, the main referee of the three RSFSR Spartakiades, the RSFSR Cup, the Grand-prix of the Znamensky brothers` memorial, secretary of many international competitions etc.
She prepared three Referees of the USSR and five Referees of the RSFSR.
She was awarded the Decoration of Honour For Services to Physical Culture and Sport Development in 1998, the medal 80 years of the State Committee of Sport of Russia (2004) and the medal Sports Master (1988).
He was born in 1932 in the Sverdlovsk region
In 1959 he became the Referee of the RSFSR in athletics, in 1979 – the Referee of the USSR. He was referee in athletics competitions of the 1980 Olympics, worked as a referee in the 1979 USSR Spartakiade and was senior referee in the sprinting competitions of the 1980 Olympics.
From 1986 to 1998 Gennady was a member of the inspecting brigade to estimate organization and conducting of the Russian and the USSR championships in athletics. He was chairman of the Tyumen Region Athletics Federation for 20 years.
Gennady prepared 3 Masters of Sports and 7 Candidate Masters of Sports.
He received the Outstanding Sportsmen Honorary Distinction badge (1981) and the title the Honoured Worker of Physical Culture of the Russian Federation (2001). He was awarded the medal 80 years of the State Committee of Sport of Russia.
She was born in Tobolsk in 1925.
Nina devoted all 50 working years to development of physical culture and sports in the region. After the war she was head of the town council VSC Spartak. That is when the first lit ski route was built, and first local Masters of Sports appeared.
In 1956 she moved to Tyumen, became Deputy of the Tyumen VSC Spartak Chairman, and a year later became Chairman of the regional council VSC Spartak. She was many times elected member of the Central and Russian councils of Spartak and the USSR Council of Professional Unions. Since 1968 Nina has been member of the regional Council of Professional Unions. That was the time when the first hockey and football teams of B-category appeared in Spartak, and that was the beginning of the development of these kinds of sports in Tyumen.
She and her colleagues-geologists have contributed a lot in the building of the sporting base of the region. The Palace of Sports, a football stadium, a 4-gym sport building, a palace of sports with a swimming pool in Tyumen and 7 palaces of sports in the Northern districts. The Tyumen biathlon started to develop in Khanty-Mansiysk (the money for the building of the first equipment was provided by the Russian VSC Spartak). Later junior sport schools specializing in boxing, Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, ski racing, figure skating and swimming were established in Tyumen. Sportsmen from Spartak were important figures in the national teams in different kinds of sports. Nina worked as chairman of the regional council Spartak for 29 years.
She received the Outstanding Sportsmen Honorary Distinction badge. She was awarded the medals For Service During Great Patriotic War 1941-1945, For Outstanding Work, Winner of Socialistic Competition 1979 etc. In 1981 she received the Order of the Badge of Honour.

In 1944 Elena first became champion of the city in skiing, took part in Russian championships. She was champion of the Tyumen region in skiing and medallist of the Siberian and the Far East championships in 1951-1956. She became champion of the region in rowing and took part in Russian tennis championships from 1952 to 1957.
From 1950 to 1954 Elena was the only sportsman in the region who was a member of the national team of the RSFSR and VSC of Professional Unions in skiing.
She was born in 1947 in Tyumen.
In 1960 Nina won her first skiing competition - the competition for the newspaper Tyumen Pravda. From 1961 to 1965 she won regional championships, and in 1964 she became Candidate Master of Sports. From 1962 to 1965 she won All-Russian competitions Young Dynamo Player and Russian competitions among schoolchildren. In 1969 she became Master of Sports of the USSR.
Nina worked in the regional VSC Burevestnik, in the Physical Culture and Sports Committee of the Tyumen Executive Committee; from 1985 to 2002 she was head of Junior sport school Geolog. At that time a class specializing in swimming and volleyball was introduced at school №12.
In 1993 the volleyball team of the 1976 year of birth (men) became one of the top ten in the Russian Сhampionship, and the woman volleyball team of the 1978 year of birth was medallist of the 1992 and 1993 Сhampionships. At the same time in the swimming class appeared highly qualified students.
Nina was one of the first sportsmen to take up Nordic Walking and conduct trainings in this kind of sports.

Vladimir was the first Master of Sport of the USSR of the international category in biathlon in the Tyumen region (1978)
He was champion of the 1978 National Spartakiade of the USSR, the 1979 USSR champion, medallist of the World Cup standings, absolute winner of the international competitions Northern Holiday (1980). He is the Merited Coach of Russia (1995).
He was born in Georgian SSR in 1954.
He started doing sports in Tyumen.He became Master of Sports of the USSR of the international category in biathlon in the Tyumen region, at the same time as Vladimir Vvedensky, in 1978.
He is two-time USSR champion (1996, 1997), participant of the 1975 World Championship in Italy, and medallist of international competitions.
